This important video from Mercy for Animals takes us inside egg farms so we can see with our own eyes the real price of eggs.

Chickens are extremely intelligent and highly social animals. Naturally, they spend their days communicating with their flock members, establishing relationships, searching for food, analyzing and anticipating threats, building nests, grooming themselves, taking sun and sand baths, being devoted mothers and so much more.

Sadly, chickens used for eggs are denied everything that is natural and fulfilling to them. These miserable animals spend their lives cramped inside filthy warehouses, where the ammonia from the urine and feces burns their eyes and lungs.

A typical egg farm is one of the most noisy and smelly places in the world. It's hard to stay in these warehouses for more than a few minutes without having trouble breathing of feeling anxious due to the chickens' screams.

It's hard to believe it, but billions of chickens are forced to live in these filthy warehouses for years, while, for most parts, being crammed inside the tiniest cages.

Unfortunately, "cage-free" eggs come from the same horrible warehouses, where the only difference is that the chickens are not kept in individual cages. Instead, the entire warehouse functions like a huge cage, with thousands of desperate chickens crammed inside.

When we take an honest look at the true price of eggs, it becomes very hard to justify our willingness to buy eggs and sponsor the egg industry.

In order to help more animals escape a fate of misery, please give vegan food a try. For an easy start, join Challenge 22 to get free guidance and support for 22 days.
