Secret Slaughterhouse Video Shows Why Easter is Hell for Baby Lambs
To meet the increased demand for lamb meat during the Easter Holidays, lamb slaughterhouses work over the clock, many times their real capacity. This results in a systematic routine of breaking several health and hygiene regulations. The frustration of the slaughterhouse workers is directed towards the helpless lambs, leading to a even more cruel death.
This shocking video was released as part of an undercover investigation by Animal Equality in Italy in 2017. It exposes the brutal violence inflicted upon lambs in the slaughterhouse.
The lambs are slaughtered while conscious
The graphic footage shows workers kicking, dragging and stomping on terrified lambs, before slaughtering them and ripping their skin while still conscious. Already a nightmare in 'normal' conditions, during Easter, lamb slaughterhouses become the scenery of a terror movie beyond imagination.
It is estimated that 4 million lambs, sheep and goats are slaughtered every year for the Easter Holidays in Italy alone.
