Lamb Meat: The Shocking Reality (Undercover Video)
This video shows what happens in order to supply our demand for lamb meat. When we think of sheep and lambs, we tend to imagine large green fields where relaxed animals gaze randomly. That's what we were told when we were children. But nothing could be farther than the truth.
Animal Equality, an international non-profit organization, conducted an undercover investigation during a year. The goal was to document what is really going on in the lamb meat industry, far away from the public attention. What they found was even worse than what they expected.
The Short Life of Lambs
It's a a Dantesque movie.
Sick, healthy and dead animals are held together in the same pens, crowded as hell, stressed and scared. Then, they are taken to the slaughterhouse.
There, the baby lambs don't stop crying and screaming, seized by fear and horror. They look for their mothers, but they can't find them. All they see is their fellow lambs being brutally held, shocked and slaughtered in front of their eyes. Blood is everywhere. They can see it and smell it.
And then it's their turn. Nightmare is over.
But for millions of other animals, we can still can make a difference, one meal at a time.
