Covid-19 made many of us a bit more humble. Out of the blue, just when we were feeling like we were invincible and “on top of the food chain”, came a tiny virus and caused us to hide in our homes and change our entire way of life.

Despite all the lives lost and the damage that this virus has caused us, it’s hard to be angry at COVID-19. Not because it doesn’t deserve it but because it does not have the ability to make informed decisions. To put it more simply, Covid-19 is not hurting us on purpose.

The Lesson We Are Missing

This, however, brings up a very important moral question. If we don’t appreciate what COVID-19 is doing to us, why are we doing far worse things to other animals? After all, unlike a virus, we do have the ability to make informed decisions. Unlike a virus, we can choose to not intentionally hurt and kill animals for food, entertainment, experiments, clothing, etc.

Our Role

The industries that make their profits by exploiting and hurting animals, rely on consumers to continue to exist. Instead of being small industries that no one would support, they are flourishing and hurting more and more lives by the second.

Be The Change

But the good news is that we can change it. Each and every one of us has the power to make plant-based food a more profitable business while driving animal-based food to the realms of a lousy deal. If more of us stop buying, more of them will want to sell something else instead. Something that doesn't include making other animals suffer on purpose.
